DIRECT ANSWER

Use pneumatic actuators when a ball valve or butterfly valve needs remote quarter-turn operation, repeatable automated switching, double-acting control or spring-return fail-safe action.

Quarter-turn valve automation

Pneumatic actuators are commonly matched with ball valves and butterfly valves for automated opening and closing.

Action type

Double-acting actuators use air to open and close. Spring-return actuators can move to a safe position when air pressure is lost.

What to provide

Send valve size, torque or valve model, working pressure, action type, accessory needs, quantity and installation standard.

Separate AT-DA from AT-SR

AT-DA uses air in both directions and does not by itself establish a defined return position when air is lost. For AT-SR, specify the required fail-open or fail-closed arrangement and spring set, then check torque at both ends of the stroke.

Check the interface and air supply

The AT catalog lists ISO 5211 and DIN 3337 bottom mounting and NAMUR accessory interfaces. Confirm the exact flange and drive dimensions, the valve torque and the available air pressure before choosing a size.

Can actuators be used with any valve?

They should be matched by torque, mounting interface and operating conditions.

Are electric actuators also available?

Kailing can review electric actuator and custom valve automation requirements.
