A complete package request should define the process valve, actuator and control accessories together. Provide medium, pressure, temperature, connection, valve torque, minimum air pressure, action and required return position, then confirm all mounting and signal interfaces.
Define the process valve first
For a ball-valve installation, review the pneumatic flanged ball valve reference. For a wafer installation, review the pneumatic wafer butterfly valve reference. Select the body, seat, connection and operating limits for the actual process, not only the desired actuator size.
Send medium and concentration, normal/maximum temperature and pressure, required flow, valve size and connection standard. Include flow direction, operating sequence and installation space where relevant. A flange size alone does not establish compatibility with the pipework or suitability for the fluid.

Size the actuator for the valve and available air
Compare AT-DA double-acting actuators with AT-SR spring-return actuators according to the required action. Provide the valve torque data through travel and minimum air pressure available at the actuator. For spring return, review both air-stroke and spring-stroke torque and specify the required return direction.
Do not treat “fail closed” as a property of every spring-return assembly. The valve orientation, actuator assembly and control circuit must implement the required process behavior. If only an actuator is being replaced, include the valve mounting flange, stem dimensions and coupling/bracket details.
List control accessories and signals
| Package element | Information needed |
|---|---|
| Pilot solenoid | Air-control function, mounting, voltage and connector |
| Position feedback | Required indication, output signal and wiring |
| Positioner, if required | Control signal, feedback and operating purpose |
| Air preparation | Supply range, filtration requirement and connection |
| Bracket and coupling | Valve/actuator interfaces, orientation and drawing |
| Environment | Ambient conditions and explicitly required enclosure/documents |
State whether the package is for simple on/off operation or controlled positioning. A limit switch reports position; it should not be described as providing modulating control by itself. Ask the quotation to identify each included accessory so omissions and interface differences are visible.

Attach the drawings that resolve interfaces
For a new installation, provide the valve and pipe connection drawings, mounting space and control sketch. For a replacement, include nameplates, installation photos and the existing wiring/tubing arrangement. Record rotation, manual-operation requirements and maintenance access.
The actuator comparison guide can help prepare the action and torque questions. When the valve and actuator come from different sources, ask who will confirm the complete assembly and its functional checks.
Request a complete quotation
Send the technical data, quantity, requested documents and target date. Ask for the valve code, actuator code, accessory list, mounting drawing and agreed acceptance checks together. Model availability, sample timing and delivery terms require written confirmation for the assembled package; they should not be inferred from a general catalog page.
| Parameter | Value |
|---|---|
| Valve data | Ball or butterfly valve, size, connection and body material. |
| Medium | Water, air, oil, steam or process fluid details. |
| Working range | Pressure, temperature and cycle frequency. |
| Actuator | Double acting or spring return, fail-open or fail-close. |
| Accessories | Solenoid valve, limit switch, positioner, bracket and air preparation. |
Frequently Asked Questions
- FAQ Can I request the actuator alone?
Yes. Provide valve torque, minimum air pressure, mounting flange, stem and coupling details so the interface can be checked. - FAQ What is most often missing from a package RFQ?
Valve torque, minimum available air pressure, required return position and accessory signal/mounting details are all needed for a complete review. - FAQ Does a limit switch control intermediate position?
A limit switch supplies position indication. Specify the required control method and positioner separately when controlled positioning is needed.
